BIOGRAPHY
While growing up I was most interested in becoming a hairdresser. It runs in my family and I have always had a talent for it. So when I started my junior year in high school I enrolled in a vocational program for cosmetology for my last 2 years oh high school. However, when I was a senior, I was forced to take an extra class.
I chose photography because I thought it would be an easy grade, not expecting to fall in love with it.I and made photography my top priority for the rest of the school year. At the end of my
senior year, I was excepted into the New York State Summer School of The Arts. This was an honor because only 25 students from New York are accepted into the photography department. I went there for 6 weeks, then when i got back I took my state board cosmetology exam, got my license and started working in a salon. That was about 8 years ago.

Since then I took a year of college as a photography major at Sullivan County Community College and finished with a 4.0 average. All the while I was steadily shooting bands. While attending college I was still working full time in the salon. By the end of that year me and a few co-workers decided to venture out on our own to open a salon. Unfortunately there was no time for me to keep up classes while owning my own business, so I stopped going to school. I work inside of a salon (Hair we are!) with 7 other hairdressers. I have my own business there (Hair Design By Danielle) and I rent space. I've been working 50-70 hrs per week. for the past 3 years due to my large clientele. Unfortunately because of this I haven't been doing as much band photography lately. I am trying to squeeze a couple shows a month in, but I don't have as much time to travel far. Last year I stared teaching hair color classes a company called Schwartzkoph. I specialize in coloring and updo styling techniques . There are some photos of my work in the "other" section under photography.

I started taking picture of bands when I was 16. A friend of mine introduced me to the drummer from ninety9cents, a local punk band. Since then I've taken photos of over a hundred different bands, and have had me work on various cd's, 7 inches, posters, t-shirts
and web pages. For a list of these check out my resume section. For a list of web pages that you can find my pictures at visit my links section.
